Meet Peter Newman at Retro Con 2022!
ThunderCats are officially on the loose! Rounding out our T-Cats reunion is actor Peter Newman!
Peter was the voice of Tygra, second-in-command of the ThunderCats Nobles! Architect and scientist of the group, Tygra was the designer of the majestic Cats Lair, and possessed the power of invisibility, as well as the ability to create illusions with his mind.
Like many in the cast, Peter also voiced other principal characters on the show. These include the evil mutant Monkian, the ThunderCat’s resident blacksmith Bengali, and WilyKit’s partner in mischief WilyKat!
Wings of silver, Nerves of steel! Peter also got to take the lead on Rankin/Bass’ follow-up series ‘SilverHawks’, where he played the fearless leader of the team: Quicksilver! He also voiced Mumbo Jumbo and Timestopper.
With reruns of these shows on streaming, and new action figures currently in production at Super7, both the ThunderCats and SilverHawks brands have been experiencing a major renaissance of late!
Peter Newman joins his colleagues Lynne Lipton and Larry Kenney at our ThunderCats (and SilverHawks!) reunion at Retro Con 2022- September 24th & 25th in Oaks, PA! Come meet them in person and catch their Q&A at the show!

Larry did voice work for the Rankin/Bass’s follow-up cartoon series as well, Silverhawks, where he played Colonel Bluegrass, Buzzsaw, and Poker-Face.
He was also the voice of classic cereal mascots Count Chocula and Cocoa Puffs Sonny, and has been the tagline voice in the popular Skittles commercials for more than a decade now. “Exclusive the Rainbow! Taste the Rainbow!”
Larry will be at Retro Con on SATURDAY ONLY! He doesn’t travel to as many conventions these days, so don’t miss this chance to meet the voice of some of the most revered characters of all time!!

Larry Kenney at Retro Con 2014!
We are pleased to welcome the Lord of the ThunderCats himself to our 2014 show: Voice actor Larry Kenney!
Larry is of course best known for his role of the heroic leader of the ThunderCats, Lion-o! The show ran for 130 episodes across four seasons (from 1985 to 1989).
Larry is also known for being the voice of guitar-playing Colonel Bluegrass on SilverHawks, martial arts black-belt Karate Kat (part of ‘The Comic Strip’ tv show), plus he gave personality to Count Chocula and Cocoa Puffs Sonny in cereal commercials in the 80’s. In more recent years he has been the announcer on vh-1′s ‘Best Week Ever’ program, and has reprised his role of Lion-o for humorous ThunderCats skits on the animated series Family Guy. He was also given the role of Claudus, father of Lion-o, on the updated ThunderCats cartoon in 2011!
