**JUST ADDED!!**

We have a late addition to our guest line-up… please welcome voice actor Renae Jacobs to Retro Con 2022, September 24th & 25th in Oaks, PA!

Renae is best known as the voice of Channel 6’s ace reporter April O’Neil on the classic 80’s cartoon series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Known for her signature yellow jumpsuit and bold reporting style, April would sometimes get in over her head and end up kidnapped by Shredder and his flunkeys. But she’s also one of the turtles’ most trusted allies and saved their shells countless times throughout the series! April is one of the most popular and recognizable animated characters from the 80’s & 90’s. Come meet the voice behind the character at Retro Con 2022!

We want to thank Renae for agreeing to come to the show on such short notice! If you have a friend that’s a TMNT fan, please consider sharing this post to spread the word that Renae is coming to the Philadelphia area!

ThunderCats are officially on the loose! Rounding out our T-Cats reunion is actor Peter Newman!

Peter was the voice of Tygra, second-in-command of the ThunderCats Nobles! Architect and scientist of the group, Tygra was the designer of the majestic Cats Lair, and possessed the power of invisibility, as well as the ability to create illusions with his mind.

Like many in the cast, Peter also voiced other principal characters on the show. These include the evil mutant Monkian, the ThunderCat’s resident blacksmith Bengali, and WilyKit’s partner in mischief WilyKat!

Wings of silver, Nerves of steel! Peter also got to take the lead on Rankin/Bass’ follow-up series ‘SilverHawks’, where he played the fearless leader of the team: Quicksilver! He also voiced Mumbo Jumbo and Timestopper.

With reruns of these shows on streaming, and new action figures currently in production at Super7, both the ThunderCats and SilverHawks brands have been experiencing a major renaissance of late!

Peter Newman joins his colleagues Lynne Lipton and Larry Kenney at our ThunderCats (and SilverHawks!) reunion at Retro Con 2022- September 24th & 25th in Oaks, PA! Come meet them in person and catch their Q&A at the show!

There is a separate room to the right of the stage where attendees can pay to play rounds of bowling while watching the concert on the venue’s large overhead screens. There is also a full bar in the venue, where attendees 21 and older can purchase drinks.

There are no age restrictions at this event, though all ages require a concert ticket. We do not recommend bringing very young children to this event, as it is a rock concert played at full volume. Please also keep in mind the concert will be held in a bar setting.

We want to keep this event fun and safe for everyone! Anyone found to be disorderly will be asked to leave without refund.

The Cybertronic Spree Returns for Retro Con 2018!

July 10, 2018 Leave a comment

They rocked our show last year, and they’ll be back again this year to rev up the decibels even higher!

Beyond Good. Beyond Evil. Beyond Your Wildest Imagination.

They are…

 The Cybertronic Spree!

More than meets the eye, The Cybertronic Spree are here on Earth with one critical mission: To party like it’s 1986! This band of Transformers has been brought together by the power of rock ‘n’ roll and they can’t be stopped.

Join Hotrod, Arcee, Rumble, Unicron, Soundwave, Bumblebee, Shockwave and a Quintesson as they prove they’ve got the power to light your darkest hour! These rockstars in disguise play music from The Transformers: The Movie, plus themes from hit films, cartoons, video games, and more. They blend their love for the 80’s and 80’s metal into an energon-fueled, unforgettable live show!

The Cybertronic Spree have been rocking conventions and events since 2013. They’ve captivated audiences across Canada and the US with performances at Anime North, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Toronto ComicCon, Nerd Noise Night, Retro Con, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Montreal Comic Con and opened for fellow space-rockers, TWRP, Electric 6, and Magic Sword.

Last year, the band released their first original single, “Cybertronic Warrior”, a fist-pumping robot anthem. The video was directed by cult director Steven Kostanski (ManBorg, The Void) and released to great acclaim. The band are now battling it out in the studio once more, set to record and release a follow-up of gigantic proportions!

The Cybertronic Spree will be attending the show early in the day on Saturday as convention guests, where fans can meet with them and purchase band-related merchandise. Tentative times are 10am to 1pm.

But of course we can’t stop there! The Cybertronic Spree will also be performing a concert that Saturday night (October 13th) at 8pm at the nearby Arnold’s Family Fun Center!

**Cybertronic Spree Concert Tickets Coming Soon!**

Check out some shots of the band’s sold-out concert from last year’s Retro Con!

_ _ _

So come to the Retro Con to hang with the band, and then see them in concert Saturday night! Their concert last year was regarded by many to be the highlight of the convention!!
