Neil Comp 1oo

We’re kicking off our guest list with a voice acting great… Please welcome the esteemed Neil Ross to Retro Con 2024!

A fifty plus year veteran of voiceovers and radio, Neil has so many classic characters under his belt, it’s tough to pick a foremost role! He played unruly swabbie Shipwreck on the hit 80’s cartoon series GI Joe: A Real American Hero, one of the most popular Joes on the show. He also voiced other featured characters on the program such as Dusty, Buzzer, and Monkeywrench, as well as incredulous reporter Hector Ramirez, who is notable for being a crossover character in GI Joe, Transformers, Jem, and Inhumanoids!

Neil was also a big part in the Generation 1 Transformers cartoon, with his largest role being the rugged Autobot Springer in season 3 of the show. He also voiced surly Dinobot Slag, Hook and Bonecrusher of Constructicons/Devastator fame, Crosshairs, Pointblank, and Sixshot!

“And I’ll form… the head!” Switching over to Voltron, Neil played two of the main characters on the popular ‘Lion Force’ version of the show- Commander Keith and Pidge! He reprised the role of Keith for Voltron: The Third Dimension, and also voiced Voltron himself in a nostalgia-fueled “Happy Honda Days” series of commercials back in 2018.

Neil had another popular role in the 1990’s where he played the demented Green Goblin on the 1994 Spider-Man TV series, reaching a whole new generation of fans! You may also have heard Neil as Clyde in the 1982 Pac-Man cartoon, Leoric on Visionaries, Ace McCloud on Centurions, Herc Armstrong on Inhumanoids, FLUFFI on Bionic Six, Dr. Doom on Fantastic Four, the Clamp building announcer in Gremlins 2, and he voiced the title character in Rambo: The Force of Freedom! Yes, we had to include the image of Rambo riding on the back of a great white shark in Neil’s promo pic…

It’s been a full eleven years since Neil has been at Retro Con, and we’re looking forward to showing him how much we’ve grown since then. And we’re hoping you’ll come out to meet him too!

Neil has written his own autobiography entitled Vocal Recall: A Life in Radio and Voiceovers, chronicling his upbringing in the UK, time in the military, and his long career in the voiceover realm. You can buy it directly on his website, with net proceeds donated to Broadcasters Foundation of America & The Actors Fund!

Paul Eiding Comp 1oo

“Ultra Magnus! A cursory evaluation of Decepticon capabilities indicates a distinct tactical deficiency!”

In other words… Please welcome voice actor Paul Eiding to our guest list for Retro Con 2023! =D

Paul is best known to the retro 80’s crowd as the voice of Perceptor on G1 Transformers! The mighty microscope was a regular character in season 2 of the cartoon, as well as appearing in Transformers: The Movie (1986), and was one of only a handful of classic characters to be carried over to Season 3 of the show. He was also known as “That Transformer toy everyone had” back in the day…

Paul also provided the english dubbed voice for Colonel Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid series from 1998 to 2008 (as well as voicing the character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl)! If you played these games, you’ll be well acquainted with Paul’s cries of panic upon your mission failure. “What’s wrong? Snake! SNAAAAAKE!”

You’ve also heard Paul as the voice of cool grandpa Max Tennyson in the popular Ben 10 cartoon series, and numerous alien characters on the show! He also played ‘No-Zone’ on Toxic Crusaders, Scorp on Challenge of the GoBots, Raider Rath on Sky Commanders, Jonathan Kent on several recent Superman OAVs, and numerous other animated roles. He’s also voiced scores of characters in video games series such as Starcraft, Diablo, Ninja Gaiden, God of War, Elder Scrolls, Ratchet & Clank, Fallout, and on and on…

Paul has done on-screen work as well, and played show regular Don ‘King of Carpets’ Miller on the 80’s guilty-pleasure sitcom ‘The Charmings’! Come on, you know you watched it…

We’ve known Paul for a long time, and we’re excited to finally be bringing him to Retro Con!

Katie L Promo 5gggg

Adventure awaits! Please welcome voice actor Katie Leigh to Retro Con 2023!!

Known for many notable roles in her long career, retro fans will probably best know Katie as the voice of ‘Sheila the Thief’ on the beloved 80’s cartoon Dungeons & Dragons! Though often shy and nervous, Sheila always displayed bravery when her friends were in trouble, especially her kid brother Bobby. A fan favorite on the show, Sheila also possessed one of the coolest items in the series- The Cloak of Invisibility!

Loosely based on the D&D tabletop game, the Dungeon & Dragons cartoon by Marvel Productions ran for three seasons on CBS Saturday mornings. The cartoon’s eclectic mix of characters, slick artwork, and excellent voice acting really made it shine. The intrepid band of kids even made a brief cameo appearance in the recent Dungeons & Dragons live-action movie!

Katie has many other mega popular roles too, such as Sunni Gummi on Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Baby Rowlf on Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, and Honker Muddlefoot on Darkwing Duck! She also voiced an entire stable’s worth of ponies on the original My Little Pony cartoon, as well as Alex on Totally Spies, Sailor Iron Mouse on Sailor Moon, Zuzu on Poppy Cat, Luke on Time Traveler Luke, and (believe it or not) even provided voice for the kid Maharajah in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom!

It’s been many years since she voiced some of these roles, but we’re here to say Katie’s still got it!! We interviewed her awhile back, and she very easily slipped into her old roles like it was yesterday! Come meet her at the show, and help us celebrate the Dungeon & Dragon cartoon’s 40th Anniversary!!

Other notable animation roles of Robbie include Choji Akimichi in the popular anime series Naruto, ‘Iggy’ in Initial D, sled dog Star in Balto, Stuffy in Doc McStuffins, Tricerashot in Transformers: Robots in Disguise, and (returning to the franchise) Mondo Gekko in 2012’s TMNT series.
