Meet Phil LaMarr at Retro Con 2026!

March 27, 2026 Leave a comment

Get ready, Retro fans! The amazing Phil LaMarr is coming to Retro Con 2026, September 12th & 13th in Oaks, PA! From sci-fi laughs to action-packed heroics, Phil’s voice has been part of some of the most iconic animated series ever made!

Futurama fans know Phil best as Hermes Conrad, the perpetually overworked Planet Express bureaucrat (and Olympic-level limbo champion) who somehow keeps the entire operation running with strict rules, endless paperwork, and just a touch of panic. Phil voiced other memorable characters on the show as well, such as the fiery sermon-delivering Preacherbot.

Phil is also the voice behind a powerhouse lineup of other fan-favorite characters! The stoic and heroic Samurai Jack, steadfast Green Lantern John Stewart on Justice League, Static on Static Shock, smooth Autobot Jazz on ‘Transformers Animated’, and Jedi Master Kit Fisto in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. You’ll also know him as Wilt from ‘Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends’, Hector Con Carne on ‘Evil Con Carne’, and Vamp in the Metal Gear Solid game series. He’s even the voice behind Ollie Williams on Family Guy! So if the Retro Con forecast suddenly becomes “IT’S GONNA RAIN!”, you’ll know who to blame…

Outside the recording booth, Phil was also a cast member on the hit sketch series MADtv for five seasons. He also played Marvin, the unfortunate backseat passenger of Jules’ and Vincent’s car, in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 classic Pulp Fiction. (If you know you know…)

Phil LaMarr joins his fellow Futurama co-star Billy West at Retro Con 2026! Don’t miss your chance to meet Phil at the show, grab an autograph or photo op, and hear some of your favorite voices live!

Meet Voice Actor Billy West at Retro Con 2026!

GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!

The legendary Billy West is officially heading to Retro Con 2026, September 12th & 13th in Oaks, PA! We’re thrilled to welcome one of the most versatile and prolific voice actors in history!

Billy’s work on Futurama is a masterclass in range, as he provides the voices for a huge portion of the Planet Express crew. He carries the heart of the show as the lazy time-displaced Philip J. Fry, as well as the genius/dangerous Professor Farnsworth, the inept but lovable Dr. Zoidberg, and the “distinguished” Zapp Brannigan. The show has called several networks its home since premiering in 1999, most recently Hulu where a new season will premiere this year!

Before he headed to the future, Billy was a cornerstone of the 90’s Nicktoons revolution! On The Ren & Stimpy Show, he brought “happy-happy, joy-joy” enthusiasm to our screens, voicing the dim-witted but lovable Stimpy J. Cat, and later the high-strung and temperamental Ren Höek. Fans will never forget the hilarity of Ren screaming “STIMPY, YOU EEDIOT!!” or the surreal adventures and visuals that pushed the boundaries of kids animation at the time.

Billy also provided the original heart and soul of Nickelodeon’s ‘Doug’, as both Doug Funnie and his rival Roger Klotz. This duality showcased his incredible ability to play both the relatable hero and the neighborhood bully in the same scene, making the show a timeless staple of 90’s nostalgia.

Billy also took on the mantle of animation royalty when he stepped into the role of the world’s most famous rabbit for the 1996 blockbuster Space Jam! Providing the voices for both Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, he helped lead the Tune Squad to victory against the fearsome Monstars.

Other roles you may have heard Billy in include “Red” in the M&M candy commercials, Buzz the Honey-Nut Cheerios bee, Slimer from ‘Extreme Ghostbusters’, Shaggy in ‘Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island’, Pidge on ‘Voltron: The Third Dimension’, Kraab on the original ‘Ben 10’, and literally hundreds more!

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to meet a true icon of the industry in person!

A special announcement from our news correspondent Morbo…

Please welcome the great Maurice LaMarche to our guest list for Retro Con 2025, September 6th & 7th in Oaks, Pennsylvania!

An Emmy award-winning voice actor of over 40 years in the business, Maurice’s versatility in the field is legendary, and if you were a cartoon watcher between the 80’s and today, you’ve no doubt heard dozens of his iconic voices!

He played classic characters such as Egon Spengler on the Real Ghostbusters (1986)! The eccentric PKE meter-toting genius of the team, Maurice voiced Egon for six years on the show, and would reprise the character in Extreme Ghostbusters (1997).

He also voiced a myriad of characters on Futurama, including Kif Kroker, Lrrr, Walt, Calculon, and sadistic news anchor Morbo the Annihilator! “Windmills do not work that way! Good night!”

And proving he can do it all, Maurice is the cool calculating voice of Mr. Freeze in the ‘Batman: Arkham’ series of video games.

Maurice is also a master impressionist, with hilarious takes on William Shatner, Rod Serling, and of course his iconic Orson Welles impression which was used on The Critic, The Simpsons, Futurama, and was the basis for one of his most popular animated roles…

The Brain! Maurice voiced the more devious half of the classic rodent pair ‘Pinky & the Brain’. First as a part of the Animaniacs series, and then in their own spin-off show in 1995. A truly timeless comedy series, the show celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year!

Are you pondering what we’re pondering? If you’ve been keeping up with our show announcements, you’ll know that Maurice joins fellow voice acting legend Rob Paulsen at Retro Con 2025. Which of course means… Pinky & the Brain reunion!! In addition to individual autographs and table photo ops at the show, we also plan to make available a pro photo op with both actors together. That’s right: Pinky… the Brain… and YOU!

Keep watching our pages, more great guest announcements to come! What are we going to do till then? Same thing we do every night… Try to take over the world!
