Dwight Schultz to Attend Retro Con 2017!

May 11, 2017 1 comment

We are thrilled to add actor Dwight Schultz to our guest list for Retro Con 2017! Dwight has two very popular roles in the retro realm.

Most notably, Dwight played Captain H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock in all 97 episodes of the hit 80’s TV series The A-Team! The seemingly insane former army captain was the A-Team’s resident pilot, and was a constant source of comic relief in every episode. His back and forth banter with B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) made for some of the funniest moments on the show!

Dwight is also well known for a reoccurring role in the Star Trek universe: Lieutenant Reginald Barclay! The character started out with anxiety and social issues, along with an addiction to the Holodeck. But he eventually found his confidence and became an upstanding member of the crew, while still retaining his trademark quirkiness. Dwight played the role in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the First Contact theatrical film, and in Star Trek: Voyager.

In recent years Dwight has kept busy as a voice actor, with roles such as Dr. Animo on Ben 10, Mung on Chowder, and Wyrm on Nickelodeon’s current iteration of TMNT. Dwight also had the opportunity to revisit the character of H.M. Murdock by voicing the character in the recent LEGO Dimensions A-Team game!

Dwight Schultz will be at Retro Con all weekend for autograph and photo ops! Prices will be listed on the website as we get closer to show time.

Preregistration will go up at the start of the year, with a tentative price for weekend tickets being $23. At the door price is tentatively set at $18 on Saturday, and $15 on Sunday.

Vendor spots are already available! Click on the tab marked Vendors at the top of the page for details on how you can reserve a spot at the show.

We’d like to thank everyone that’s come to the show over the past few years. It is your continued support that keeps us going. We had a modest increase in attendance between 2014 and 2015, but we’d love to see the show grow even more in 2016! So if you’ve enjoyed the show in the past- the wide variety of vendors, the free contests, our fantastic guests, the unique displays, the affordable admission price and free parking, the awesome and spirited costumes attendees have had, the unique atmosphere in the air- then we encourage you to tell a friend about it!

We realize we’re a bit of a “tough sell” in this age of comic cons, anime, and video game shows. But if you think about it, nearly everything popular in the geek realm today is firmly ingrained in the past. We adamantly believe the roots of pop culture should always be respected and celebrated!

More show announcements will be coming in the near future, so keep watching!!
