Free Play Arcade at Retro Con 2026!
Insert coin. Or don’t… because it’s all Free Play!
The corner arcade is back for Retro Con 2026, and once again powered by our friends over at The Very Best restaurant in Pottstown, PA! They’re rolling in an awesome lineup of classic arcade cabinets and pinball machines, set to FREE PLAY all weekend long! No quarters needed… though you might want to bring one along anyway to put on the arcade screen bezel to signify you got “next game”!
No emulation here, all their machines feature real boards and hardware!
If you’re local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by The Very Best in Pottstown for lunch. It’s a true local gem established way back in 1921. Josh and his staff are super-friendly, it’s got that perfect old-school vibe, and a menu stacked with comfort food favorites. Menu highlights include burgers, steaks, hoagies, sandwiches, fries, and of course their famous hot dogs (plain, chili, kraut, Texas Tommys, and more). And to top it all off… the place has a full pay-to-play arcade right in the back! So stop by for a meal, and put a quarter in the jukebox to play Double Dutch Bus or Pac-Man Fever!

Ready Player One! Our corner arcade returns for Retro Con 2025!
This year our arcade will be sponsored by The Very Best restaurant in Pottstown PA, who will also be bringing in their own arcade cabinets and setting them to FREE PLAY! All their machines use real boards/hardware, but many also include a highscore feature that will keep a saved score even after power-off. So if you set a high score at the show, it will remain on the machine even after it’s been returned to their restaurant! Retro Con staffer Tony will be sad if you beat his Pac-Man score though…
If you live in the area, make a trip to Pottstown and stop by The Very Best for lunch! Established in 1921 and recently featured on Channel 6 Action News, Josh and his staff are super-friendly, the place has an awesome retro atmosphere, the food is delicious, and it’s affordably priced. Our corner arcade is returning for Retro Con 2024, and this year we’re supersizing it!! The Game is Afoot Arcade will be bringing in 18 full size arcade cabinets this year, some with dedicated games inside, and others featuring thousands of titles to choose from. From 70’s to 90s, they’ve got your retro favorites covered!
No need for quarters or tokens… all cabinets at Retro Con will be set to FREE PLAY!!
So once you’re done shopping and meet the guests, stop by the arcade to exterminate some centipedes, blow up some pookas and fygars, grab a burger with the Bad Dudes, liberate Metro City from the Mad Gear gang, drive your Ferrari coast to coast, flee from Sinistar, and uh… deliver newspapers.
