Retro Con 2024 Costume Contest!
We will be hosting *TWO* costume contests at Retro Con 2024!
SATURDAY at 1:15pm- Junior & Adult Costumers 14 and over!
SUNDAY at 12:45pm- Kid Costumers 13 and under!
Hosted once again by our good friend Eric “The Smoke” Moran, both contests will be held in the panel area at the show. Individuals and small groups are eligible to participate.
Preregistering for the contest is not necessary and there are no sign-up fees, though we suggest entrants please arrive outside the panel room 15 minutes before contest time for line-up.
Retro Con has a dedicated panel and contest room now, which is connected to our lead-in hallway!
We do a combination of staff judging and crowd reaction to determine our three winners. While craftsmanship will be definitely be taken into account, we will mostly judge costumes on their theme and overall effect. While some costumers are well-versed in advanced sewing and molding techniques, others show their ingenuity through creative glueing, hand sewing, and working with found items. We recognize costuming/cosplay as a hobby for people of all skill sets and budgets!
Please no skits or anything else that might delay the contest. Doing a pose and/or saying something briefly in character is okay. Also please no heckling from the audience or from contestants. Anyone found disorderly will be asked to leave. We believe in a fun and ego-free atmosphere!

Pass the Controller Gaming Panel at Retro Con 2024!
Pass The Controller will be hosting a retro gaming panel at Retro Con!
Based out of Philadelphia, Pass The Controller posts daily content across multiple social media platforms, hosts live events, and regularly broadcasts a live 90-minute gaming-focused show. Much of their work can be found on their official Facebook page, but they also broadcast on Twitch, Instagram, X, and YouTube.

Meet Kelli Maroney at Retro Con 2024!
Late-addition guest announcement! You wanted her, you got her… Kelli Maroney is coming to Retro Con 2024, September 7th & 8th in Oaks, Pennsylvania!!
“Daddy would have gotten us Uzis…” Kelli played Samantha in the 1980’s cult classic Night of the Comet, also celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year! The younger of the two Belmont sisters, Sam and her sis Reggie found themselves unlikely survivors of a civilization-ending event, leaving them to survive against cannibalistic zombies and a sketchy group of scientists. The movie mixes horror, sci-fi, and comedy into a film that’s attracted fans across many genres and ages!
Kelli was also in another 80’s movie with a cult following, 1986’s camp classic Chopping Mall! A trio of roving rolling security robots go berserk, stalking teenage employees after hours in a multi-level shopping mall! Originally called “Killbots”, the movie flew under the radar until it got a clever name change to “Chopping Mall”. It’s an unapologetic slice of 80’s cheese, and another favorite in the Retro Con household! “HAVE A NICE DAY!”
Kelli joins her Night of the Comet co-star Catherine Mary Stewart at Retro Con 2024! They’ll be having a Night of the Comet 40th Anniversary panel together on Saturday afternoon, and we’re also planning a pro photo op session with the two! Stay tuned for details!
A huge Thank You to Kelli for being so easygoing to work with, and helping us work within our already maxed-out budget for the year! PLEASE stop by her table to show her some love. Lance and Catherine will also be hosting individual selfies/photo ops at their tables throughout the weekend if you’d like to get a picture with them individually!
You do not need to pre-register for Retro Con to buy a photo op, but you will at least need to pay admission at the door on your attending day of choice. Guest Autographs will not be sold in advance, and can be purchased directly at the guests’ table at the show.

Mythic & Cosmic Legions at Retro Con 2024!
Attention Mythic and Cosmic Legion fans!!
Wolf King Customs will be returning for Retro Con 2024! An approved “Street Team Event” for Four Horsemen Studios, they will be at the show and loaded up with current offerings for Mythic Legions and Cosmic Legions figures, for sale at studio show prices!
They’ll be in attendance both days of the show alongside the ToyForge, and will be hosting a special event on Sunday for fans of the brand. The event features customs on display, painting session, prizes, parts pop & swap, and a hang-out to talk all things Legions!

The old Regal Cinema next to the expo center was reopened last year as Oaks Center Cinema (same parent company to Arnold’s at the Factory), and they will be hosting a trio of 40th Anniversary screenings of The Last Starfighter the weekend of Retro Con!
Three times to watch: Friday September 6th at 7pm, Saturday September 7th at 7pm, and Sunday September 8th at 5pm. A fun before-convention or after-convention treat!
Always trust Centauri! Party like it’s 1984 and see this classic on the big screen like it was intended! And come to Retro Con 2024 to meet two of its stars: Lance Guest and Catherine Mary Stewart! The Last Starfighter panel takes place at Retro Con on Sunday.
Standard movie ticket prices do apply. Tickets will be up on the theater’s website soon, as well as on Fandango, or you can also buy right at the box office on your attending day of choice. You do not need to attend Retro Con to see the movie.
The Oaks Center is also filled with other fun activities like air hockey, skill games, arcade machines, skee ball, ticket redemption counter, a hangout lounge, and much more! Fall Guy Truck Replica at Retro Con 2024!
We have a brand new vehicle to add to the show floor this year… a replica Fall Guy truck!
Made from a 1980’s GMC Sierra Grande pickup, this ringer for the seemingly indestructible truck driven Colt Seavers on the show has been seriously modified to include all the bells and whistles! Lifted body, mag wheels, oversized tires, bullbar, auxiliary lights, CB whip antenna, hoop steps, rollbar, and utility winch. It of course also has a screen-accurate paint scheme, complete with the ‘Fall Guy Stuntman Association’ logo right on the hood!
The truck will be a show attraction only, and will not be used for photo ops with Lee Majors. Nor will it be used for stunt jumps at the show!
A huge thanks to Alex Page for bringing his beautiful truck to the show! The Fall Guy truck joins other replica TV/Movie vehicles on the floor such as the DeLorean time machine (owned by Philly Time Machine Rentals), A-Team van (owned by Ryan Steckel), and the Jersey General Lee (owned by Tom Felice, appearing Saturday Only)!
