Retro Cinema Saturday!

The fun doesn’t stop when the show floor closes!

After Retro Con 2026 wraps up for the day on Saturday September 12th, head next door to Oaks Center Cinema for a pair of totally 80’s classics! Best of all, admission is only $5 per movie! A throwback price worthy of a throwback movie night!

First up at 6:00PM: Teen Wolf! Michael J. Fox plays varsity jacket-sporting high schooler Scott Howard as he embraces his inner werewolf, dominates on the basketball court, and surfs through town on the roof of his best friend’s deliver truck in this peak ’80s comedy classic! Catch it on the big screen!

And then at 8:15PM: Be somebody with the original Police Academy! Join Mahoney, Jones, Tackleberry, Hooks, Hightower, and the rest of the misfit cadets in their first big-screen appearance in this outrageous comedy that launched one of the biggest franchises of the 80’s! Please note: this film is Rated R and is intended for mature audiences.

Even better? You can meet two members of the Police Academy cast earlier that day at Retro Con! Steve Guttenberg (aka Carey Mahoney) will be appearing Saturday only, while the incomparable Michael Winslow (aka Larvell Jones) will be at Retro Con both Saturday and Sunday. Meet them at the show, then head next door and watch them on the big screen! It doesn’t get much more awesome than that…

Meet Michael Winslow at Retro Con 2026!

We found the right man to keep track of the Bleeps, the Sweeps, and the Creeps! Please welcome the legendary Michael Winslow to Retro Con 2026!!

 

Known worldwide as the “Man of 10,000 Sound Effects”, Michael Winslow has spent over four decades redefining what the human voice can do. This incredible “voicetramentalist” can recreate an entire sound effects library on the fly, a mind-blowing talent that recently earned him a massive resurgence on America’s Got Talent. Millions of viewers were reminded of what we retro fans have known for years: There is only one Michael Winslow!

 

Comedy movie fans know Michael best of course as Larvell Jones, the human beatbox and sound machine of the Police Academy franchise! While Mahoney was breaking the rules, Jones was stealing scenes by mimicking machine-gun fire, emulating screeching tires, acting like a berserk robot, and performing his legendary dubbed kung-fu routine in Police Academy 2! Jones remains one of the series’ most popular characters, having appeared in every single entry of the series.

 

Mel Brooks’ classic Spaceballs is packed with iconic gags, but Michael Winslow’s appearance as an excitable radar technician is easily one of the funniest. Watching him mimic a malfunctioning console, before breaking the news to Dark Helmet that the radar has been… jammed! (raspberry), will always be pure comedic gold. With the highly anticipated sequel ‘Spaceballs: The New One’ tracking for an April 2027 release, retro fans just might get to hear those famous vocal effects back on the big screen once again…

 

Winslow also lent his vocal magic to the 1984 classic Gremlins, providing voice effects that helped bring the mischievous monsters to life. From giggles and growls to the chaotic chatter of Kingston Falls’ most notorious troublemakers, his voice became part of the DNA of one of the most famous creature features of all time!

Meet Steve Guttenberg at Retro Con 2026!! Saturday-Only!

Fire up “I’m Gonna Be Somebody”, “Who’s Johnny”, and the Police Academy march! We’ve just secured a guest who didn’t just rule your local video rental store, he completely dominated the theater box office for an entire decade! The incredible Steve Guttenberg is reporting for duty SATURDAY ONLY at Retro Con 2026 this September in Oaks, PA!

When it comes to 1980s comedy, few actors left a bigger fingerprint on the decade than Steve Guttenberg! For an entire generation of movie fans, he’ll forever be remembered as Carey Mahoney, the wisecracking troublemaker at the center of the Police Academy series. For four movies, Mahoney perfected the art of bending the rules, tormenting his superiors, and somehow turning every crisis into a win. In the process, he became one of the most iconic comedy heroes of the decade!

And of course Mahoney was only one stop on an incredible career! Guttenberg also starred as inventor Newton Crosby in the 1986 classic Short Circuit, where he helped unleash the input-loving robot Johnny 5 on the world. He also had a dramatic turn in the landmark tv event The Day After, starred in the beloved sci-fi film Cocoon, helped make ‘Three Men and a Baby’ one of the biggest box-office hits of the 1980s, was part of the acclaimed ensemble cast of Diner (1982), headlined the supernatural comedy High Spirits, and appeared in countless other film and television projects over the past 40+ years!
