Dirk Benedict to attend Retro Con 2017!
We welcome Dirk Benedict to Retro Con 2017! Dirk is known for two iconic roles on genre TV…
He starred on the wildly popular 80’s series The A-Team as the team’s resident smoothie and hustler Templeton Peck, aka “Face”!
And Dirk also played a lead role on the 1978 sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica, as the brash but charming Colonial pilot Starbuck!
Dirk is scheduled to attend Retro Con both Saturday and Sunday! We’ll post autograph/photo op prices as we get closer to show time.
We’re also planning an A-Team panel for Dirk at the show along with fellow cast member Dwight Schultz! It will be scheduled for that Sunday (October 15th). During which attendees can ask questions about the show, or even the actors’ work unrelated to the show!
Retro Gaming at Retro Con 2017!
Video games are a large part of retro culture, so Retro Con will once again be including a classic gaming section on the show floor in 2017! The Game Is Afoot Arcade will be back with a wide assortment of arcade cabinets for attendees to play!

Aside from bringing classic arcade cabinets for attendees to play, they will also be bringing their popular multicade machines which include THOUSANDS of titles for players to choose from! All machines will be set to FREE PLAY!!

And if home gaming is more your thing, both The Game Guyz and Extra Life will also be at the show all weekend with a diverse selection of home consoles for attendees to play!
The Game Guyz will be vendors at the show, selling a wide range of video game, board game, and tabletop game products. They will also have costumer Victoria Avalor at their tables all weekend, paying tribute to beloved Star Wars character Princess Leia!
Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24 hour gaming marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $30 million for local CMN hospitals!
So when you’re all shopped out at the show, drop off those bags at the car and then stop by our arcade corner for some retro gaming action!!
See Retro Con’s own A-Team Van at Retro Con 2017!
Retro Con is probably the only convention in the world with its very own A-Team van on call! We’ve been working on this project since October of 2016, and it’s finally ready to be unveiled!
We’ve done our best to replicate the van from the famous 80’s TV show in every detail we could manage. Starting life as a modest 1978 Chevy G-10 work van (we’ll add a build blog later), we’ve added such details as fender flares, running boards, push bar, exterior sun shade, fog lights, sport mirrors, front air dam, quad exhaust tips, turbine wheels, BFGoodrich tires, and of course the unforgettable top fin! The custom paintjob brought it all together!!
Check out the results below…

Photos don’t do the van justice, so please come see it in person at Retro Con 2017!!
Taking pictures of the van is free at the show, or you can get a picture with (or in) the van for the low price of $5 for a person or small group! Have an A-Team related costume? Bring it to the show! We’re offering a FREE photo op with the van to anyone in an A-Team costume!! (All photo ops are on your own camera or phone)
We’d like to thank our good friend Nick Govosdian for his help in getting the van up to snuff mechanically, and we’d also like to thank Bill Cahoe and Hansberry Enterprises in Parker Ford, PA for doing the body and paint work on this project!
Win a He-Man Figure Signed by John Erwin at Retro Con 2017!
We have something very special to add to our 2017 show raffle. The voice of Skeletor, Mr. Alan Oppenheimer, was kind enough to get this MOTU Classics He-Man figure autographed by the voice of He-Man himself: Mr. John Erwin!!
The figure is sealed in package and was released last year by Matty Collector. It was made to resemble He-Man’s appearance on the classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series by Filmation, in which John Erwin provided the voice for the titular character.
We’re elated to have this in our raffle line-up, and we wish all of our attendees luck in winning it! Read more about our show raffle here:

A big thanks to John and Alan for making this possible!!

**CYBERTRONIC SPREE TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT!!**
________________________
Please read concert details in full:
You DO NOT need to pre-register for (or attend) Retro Con itself to buy tickets for the concert. But likewise, purchasing a concert ticket does not grant you access into Retro Con.
Tickets will NOT be mailed to you. Please bring along a print-out of your Paypal receipt/invoice. The staff at Arnold’s will use it to check you in. If you cannot print out your paypal receipt, your picture ID will be fine as long as it matches the name we have on file for the ticket(s). We will send you a confirmation via email that we received your payment.
Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE. However, in the unlikely event the concert is cancelled, full refunds will be given.
Please note you should enter through The Water Tower entrance at Arnold’s Family Fun Center, which is just to the right of the main entrance at Arnold’s (look for the blue awning). Arnold’s itself is located directly next door to The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.
The concert start time is 8pm, though you can arrive any time after 7pm for check-in and mingling.
The concert will run about one hour. Time permitting, the Cybertronic Spree will be available for a meet/greet immediately after the concert. Attendees can purchase band-related merchandise at this time. But to ensure you get to meet the band and buy merchandise, please come to Retro Con on Saturday! The band will be at the show from 10am to 1pm.
Please note that this is a General Admission/Standing Room Only concert. This means that there will be no chairs in the main audience section, and there will be no assigned positions. The staff at Arnold’s will of course do their best to accommodate attendees with disabilities.
There is a separate room to the right of the stage where attendees can pay to play rounds of bowling while watching the concert on the venue’s large overhead screens. There is also a full bar in the venue, where attendees 21 and older can purchase drinks.
There are no age restrictions at this event, though all ages require a concert ticket. We do not recommend bringing very young children to this event, as it is a rock concert played at full volume. Please also keep in mind the concert will be held in a bar setting.
We want to keep this event fun and safe for everyone! Anyone found to be disorderly will be asked to leave without refund.
