August 23, 2017 Leave a comment

Popular toy manufacturer NECA will be at Retro Con 2017! They’re having a huge warehouse sale and will be bringing hundreds of packaged action figures and other toys to the show, all priced to move! Many of these figures have been out of production for years.

Expect to see toys from such lines as Nightmare Before Christmas, TMNT, Alien(s), Predator, AVP, Terminator, RoboCop, Batman, Superman, Rocky, Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, Planet of the Apes, Gremlins, and much more. Lots of great figures, and most will be generally priced between $5 and $15!

NECA will be selling at the show all weekend long, and they are known for putting out new stock as merchandise sells throughout the day! Want early dibs though? Then purchase a weekend ticket to Retro Con! We start checking in Preregistants an hour early on Saturday!

Win a He-Man Figure Signed by John Erwin at Retro Con 2017!

We have something very special to add to our 2017 show raffle. The voice of Skeletor, Mr. Alan Oppenheimer, was kind enough to get this MOTU Classics He-Man figure autographed by the voice of He-Man himself: Mr. John Erwin!!

The figure is sealed in package and was released last year by Matty Collector. It was made to resemble He-Man’s appearance on the classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series by Filmation, in which John Erwin provided the voice for the titular character.

We’re elated to have this in our raffle line-up, and we wish all of our attendees luck in winning it! Read more about our show raffle here:

A big thanks to John and Alan for making this possible!!

We’d like to thank everyone that’s come to the show over the past few years. It is your continued support that keeps us going. We had a modest increase in attendance between 2014 and 2015, but we’d love to see the show grow even more in 2016! So if you’ve enjoyed the show in the past- the wide variety of vendors, the free contests, our fantastic guests, the unique displays, the affordable admission price and free parking, the awesome and spirited costumes attendees have had, the unique atmosphere in the air- then we encourage you to tell a friend about it!

We realize we’re a bit of a “tough sell” in this age of comic cons, anime, and video game shows. But if you think about it, nearly everything popular in the geek realm today is firmly ingrained in the past. We adamantly believe the roots of pop culture should always be respected and celebrated!

More show announcements will be coming in the near future, so keep watching!!
